Marcus is a board member at large for the Triangle Freethought Society (Raleigh-Durham, NC) and is interested in building strong secular communities and political power for atheists and the nonreligious. He believes in promoting humanist values and a society where everyone can be honest about who they are. He was raised Catholic during his childhood in Michigan, and after an extended disillusionment became an atheist as a young adult. In his free time, Marcus enjoys TTRPGS, board games, ice hockey, and hiking with his wife and two dogs.
