Food for Thought
Everything about the story of the flood and Noah’s Ark is patently impossible; where all the water came from and then disappeared to; 5 old sheepherders building the ark, its obvious space limitations, collecting the animals from and returning them to their habitats, and feeding them and cleaning out their cages.
The extreme difficulty in meeting their food requirements is another insoluble problem. The ungulates, and various other critters can eat plant matter – grains, hay, etc.- but what about the carnivores? With no refrigeration, meat could not be kept for more than a day or two before it was too rotten to be eaten by any but scavengers, so they would have to bring along a goodly supply of live cattle to provide food for the lions, tigers, leopards and their kin, wolf-like predators, not to mention the hawks and their relatives.(but of course the Bible doesn’t even mention taking birds along, or insects either,so how will plants be pollinated?- (Oh, right, all the plants will be dead after being immersed in salty water for a year) Since they would have to slaughter several critters every day, for almost a year, so they might need one thousand or more food animals, who also had to be fed.
Then there are the fussy eaters with specialized diets – koala, panda, ant eater, etc., not to mention the fish eaters – otters, penguins and their ilk. Obviously, who ever made up this wild story knew very little about the real world and all the many insoluble problems this tale engendered.
